A gentle alkaline simple thermal spring drawn from Dogo Onsen's No. 2 distribution station. Its alkalinity gives the slippery, soft-on-the-skin feel of Japan's beauty-water family, helped along by 52.0 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, enough to leave a thin silica film. Mineralization is light at 273 mg/kg, so the water sits easy on the body; the posted certificate documents it for peripheral circulation disorders and for autonomic instability, insomnia and depressed mood. This is not a free-flow bath: the water is recirculated and chlorine-disinfected to meet Matsuyama's public-bath hygiene standard, then reheated to hold a comfortable bathing temperature.
