Oedo Onsen Monogatari Awara is a big hotel-style ryokan in Awara Onsen, with a spacious indoor bath and two open-air baths. Guests describe the water as soft, the kind that's easy to soak in for a long while. Bathing is gender-separated, and towels can be rented if you don't bring your own. Beyond the baths, the hotel runs more like a resort than a quiet inn: a karaoke room, arcade games, table tennis, a gift corner, and buffet-style dinner and breakfast.
