A family-run toji (湯治, therapeutic stay) ryokan founded in 1910 in Hatake Onsen, a designated National Recuperation Hot Spring Area in Kannami. The spring rises at about 30 degrees, weakly alkaline and gentle, and the signature Choju-no-yu (長寿の湯) bath comes in three temperature tiers: a big lukewarm tub in the low 30s, a body-temperature middle one, and a properly hot one. Bathers ladder between them and soak for hours, the classic Hatake way. The building keeps a nostalgic Showa-era feel, and day visitors are genuinely welcome.
