About
Onyado Manyotei (御宿 万葉亭) is an adults-only (16+) ryokan in Nakanozawa Onsen, a member of the Nihon Hito no Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the association that looks after lesser-known hot springs. The water is strongly acidic and flows through all the baths without recirculation or added water. Indoor baths (separate for men and women) and open-air baths look out over the forest and a stream below. There is also a free private open-air bath with two ceramic tubs, bookable at the front desk on the day of arrival, one use per group. The Sumire room is the only one with its own in-room cypress bath, also fed by the same free-flowing spring water. No day-use bathing.
