Sakura no Shou Kotohira Grand Hotel

A hotel in Kotohira, using local Chikoin hot-spring water, just below the hill topped by Kotohira Shrine (金刀比羅宮). The open-air bath faces the shrine hill and is split into a hotter and a cooler side, with an indoor bath, sauna and cold plunge alongside it. Some suites in the annex have their own open-air onsen tub, looking out to either the shrine or Mount Sanuki-Fuji (讃岐富士). Baths are separated by gender, and a visible tattoo is fine if covered with a concealment sticker from the front desk. The hotel keeps things comfortable and unpretentious rather than showy. Bathing is for overnight guests only, with no day-use visits.
