A ryokan that has been taking guests on the Kompira pilgrimage route for centuries, with plain, simple rooms built around its onsen water. The bathing runs from a large indoor communal bath to a semi-open-air bath and a foot bath out front, plus a private bath you can book for just your group. A few rooms in the newer wing come with their own semi-open-air tub. There's a restaurant and a bar on site, and reviewers mention a kids' room, useful if you're stopping here on the way up or down the mountain.
