Arifuku Onsen Gozen-yu

Gozen-yu is the most popular of Arifuku Onsen's three public bathhouses, a small hot-spring town in the hills of Shimane. The water here is colorless and soft, locally known as bihada no yu, water for beautiful skin, and bathers often mention how smooth it leaves their skin after a soak. Alongside the main indoor bath there's a family bath you can use on your own, plus a rest room upstairs for lingering afterward. The building has kept its retro, Showa-era look, in keeping with the nostalgic streets of the old bathing town around it. Free parking for bathers is available nearby, and a combined day pass also gets you into Arifuku's other two public baths, Satsuki-yu and Yayoi-yu, the same day.
