Shimanto Source Healing Village Goroku Onsen

All bathing here is private: book a slot and the bath is yours alone, with no shared or mixed bathing. Hinoki-no-yu (ひのきの湯) is near the main building, with a light sulfur scent in the air; Hanare-no-yu (離れの湯) is a short walk further on, right at the river's edge. One room, the tokubetsu-shitsu (特別室), has its own terrace bath fed straight from the spring. Day-use bathing is available too, by separate reservation. The inn itself is six rooms in the mountains at the foot of the Shikoku Karst, where the Shimanto River begins. A stone stairway from the property leads down to a stretch of riverbank kept for guests only.
