The indoor bath sits behind big windows with wooden beams overhead and a spacious washing area, and the outdoor bath looks across a Japanese garden toward the Zao mountains and the Mogami river below. The water runs a faint amber, clear and slightly smooth on the skin, with a light, refreshing feel once you're out. Baths are split by gender, with a baby bed on the women's side, and there's a foot bath on the grounds. All guest rooms face the river, and the hotel's soba restaurant is open to day visitors as well as overnight guests. Day-use bathing is available too.
