Etajima-so sits on the shore of Etajima island, with rooms looking out over the Seto Inland Sea. The baths use salt-spring kakenagashi (掛け流し), water flowing continuously from the source without heating, so it stays at its natural cool temperature. The bathhouse has an indoor bath, a semi-open-air rotenburo, and a steam sauna. Private baths (kashikiri, 貸切風呂) on the upper floors, reserved for overnight guests, have views of the sea. A lounge with a bar is open after bathing. The ryokan is a member of the Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the Japan Secret Hot Spring Association, and was included in the 2025 Michelin Guide Hotel Selection.
