About

Fujimi Onsen is a straightforward day-use bathhouse on the lower slopes of Mt. Akagi, with an indoor bath, an outdoor bath, a jet bath, a sauna, and a cold plunge. The water is salty, the kind locals call bijin-no-yu (美人の湯), or "beauty water," and from the outdoor tub you can look out over the lights of Maebashi at night. It sits right next to Michinoeki Fujimi (道の駅ふじみ), a roadside rest stop, so it's as much a stop for passing drivers as a regular soak for locals. There's a tatami rest hall for lying down, a kids' play area, and a restaurant serving ramen and set meals. Visitors with tattoos need to keep them covered with tape.
