Yunohanajozankeiden

A large day-use bathhouse at the far end of Jozankei onsen, with views over the river gorge. The main baths are Japanese-style and Western-style communal rooms that swap between the men's and women's sides each day, plus an outdoor bath carved from a single round block of granite that closes for winter, a waterfall bath, and a jet bath. There are two sauna styles, a lower-temperature far-infrared dry sauna and, on the Japanese-style side only, a room that releases steam automatically a few times an hour, both cooling off afterward in a plunge pool filled with real chilled spring water rather than tap water. The spring itself runs salty and warming. There's also a separately charged ganbanyoku (岩盤浴) stone-floor room, a restaurant, and a big second-floor rest hall with a manga corner. It's day-use only, with a free shuttle bus from Makomanai subway station rather than any rooms to stay the night.
