A radon-bearing 'simple weakly radioactive' spring — a small but real dose of Rn places it in the hormesis tradition. Alkaline at pH 9.34, the water has the slippery beauty-water touch despite a light overall mineralization of just 0.242 g/kg. Radon registers at roughly 220 Bq/kg (16.4 Mache units), well above the threshold for a radioactive spring; the source emerges hot at 43 °C.

455. Tō Shō Ka, Saga ★★ Onsen for ¥1400. There are private baths for an extra ¥1000-1500 (I did not use them). The stated hours are 10:00 to 20:00, except Tue and Wed. They stamp the Kyushu 88 Onsen stamp rally. The bath photos online match the place. 1. Outdoor bath in stone under a roof, with two utaseyu. Partial view of bamboo and trees. The water is clear, temperature 40. There is a steam sauna. 2. Indoor bath area. It is easy to breathe inside, and the atmosphere is cozy. 2.1. Large bath with clear water, temperature 40. 2.2. Small bath with clear water, temperature 42. 2.3. Wooden bath with clear water, temperature 41. 2.4. Sauna. 2.5. Cold bath. A very solid place. Recommended to visit if you are in this area. 31.03.2025
