夏油温泉 元湯夏油

A deep-mountain hot spring inn open only from early May to mid-November, when the snow retreats enough to reach it. Five mixed rotenburo (露天風呂) are scattered along the Geto River, each with slightly different water, plus two indoor baths inside the inn. The alkaline simple spring is clear and mild. The whole place has a raw, unhurried feel, old buildings, mountain vegetable dinners, river sounds.
