Dosen no Yu (導専の湯) is one of the kyodo yokujo (共同浴場), the communal baths of Iizaka Onsen, which locals have long used as their everyday home bath. Inside are two tubs, a milder one near the changing area and a hot one at the back, so you can pick by how you feel that day. The water is clear with a faint sulfur smell, and the hot tub really is hot. Taps are there for washing, but no soap or shampoo, so bring your own or buy them at the counter. It is a local place rather than a sightseeing stop, best for a quick solo soak, and it pairs well with a walk around the other communal baths in town.
