A resort hotel of the Tsuruga group, set on a hill above Lake Abashiri. The indoor bath, Hokuten Zabo-no-yu (北天 坐忘の湯), opens onto a rotenburo facing the wooded hills of Yobito, and there is a stone-sauna room (ganbanyoku, 岩盤浴) plus a free foot bath inside the fire-tower monument by the entrance. Eleven rooms on the Konoza (古の座) floor have their own onsen-fed open-air bath with a private garden. Reviews describe an unhurried, relaxed stay, with squirrels sometimes seen from the windows by day.
