Infants through 6th-grade elementary-school children currently cannot be accommodated as guests; middle-school age and up can stay at adult rates (※中学生からご用意できます(大人料金)). One 2025 Google review calls the inn kid-friendly for a 4-year-old, which conflicts with this official policy statement — kept the official site's stated restriction as the higher-authority source.

About
Kumomien is a small ryokan with five rooms on the coast at the southern tip of west Izu, and there are three ways to bathe here: a reservable open-air bath called Roman no Yu (浪漫の湯), a mixed-bathing rotenburo with women-only hours from 7 to 10pm, and separate indoor baths for men and women. The spring is a salty calcium-sodium chloride water that comes straight from the source, unheated and undiluted, and it keeps you warm long after you towel off. The inn belongs to Nihon Hitou wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the association for Japan's secluded hot-spring inns, and there's little around it besides sea, mountains, and fresh seafood.
