Hiuchi-no-yu

Hiuchi-no-yu is a big day-use bathhouse in Saijo, Ehime, at the foot of Mt. Ishizuchi. Its main indoor bath is one of the biggest in Shikoku, alongside a hotter bath, a jet bath (elementary-age kids can't use it because of the water pressure, though every other bath here is fine for them), a small electric bath, a wood-built sauna with a cold plunge, and a mist-style steam sauna. The open-air bath sits in a semi-roofed garden corner, its water running a warm brownish gold and kept mild enough for a long soak, the kind the site calls bijin-no-yu (美人の湯), 'beauty-skin water,' for how smooth it leaves the skin. It has an old-school bathhouse feel, running in Saijo since the early 1970s and fully renovated in 2026. There's a rest area, an attached restaurant, and free parking.
