About

A ryokan in Atsushio Onsen with two large baths, each with its own open-air bath. One is a cypress bath called Oshikirigawa (押切川), the other a brick-styled bath called Himesayuri (ひめさゆり). The water is salty, and the stone open-air bath looks out on trees and the satoyama (里山) countryside below. The men's and women's sides swap late at night, so guests get to try both. There is a sauna in each large bath, a low-temperature charcoal sauna (チャコールバーデン) sold separately, and a foot bath in the woods that is closed in summer because of the heat. There are no private baths for hire, and parking is free. Day-use bathing (higaeri nyuyoku, 日帰り入浴) is possible, but it is sometimes cancelled on short notice, so it is worth calling first.
