Benimansaku-no-yu

This is a day-use bathhouse in Miyahama onsen, the small hot-spring town across the water from Miyajima. Both the indoor and open-air baths look out over the Seto Inland Sea, and the water runs through nine different tubs and corners, among them a rock bath, a cypress bath, a daily-changing bath, jet baths and a bubble bath, plus a sauna and a cold bath. There's also an outdoor foot bath. Upstairs, the restaurant Yuya Wataya (湯屋わたや) serves Seto Inland Sea seafood such as oysters and black sea bream, and a terrace lets you sit out with the same sea view after bathing. Miyahama onsen dates to 1964 and grew up around seven ryokan built along the beach facing Miyajima. This bathhouse isn't one of them; it's a separate day-use-only building with no rooms of its own.
