About

A ryokan in the Susobanakyo (裾花峡) gorge, with large outdoor baths overlooking forested canyon walls. The water runs brownish and slightly slippery, with a faint sulfur note, and flows fresh from two springs. Two bath zones, Shiroiwa-no-yu (白岩の湯) and Ryusen-no-yu (流泉の湯), rotate between men and women on alternating days. Private baths, in-room baths, a sauna with loyly sessions, cold plunge, and ganbanyoku (岩盤浴, heated stone bed) round out the facilities. Day use is available, and a free shuttle connects to central Nagano.
